Team news ahead of Legon Cities clash on Friday

Ali Ouattara

All the latest news from the gaffer on injuries, suspensions and absenteesĀ  of the first-team squad ahead of the Premier League fixture against Legon Cities in Accra on Friday night.

INJURIES

The Mauve and Yellows are without midfielder Kwasi Donsu who is out injured. It remains to be seen whether midfield sensation Rashid Nortey will be available for selection after recovering from an illness. He did not make the squad during the 2-1 defeat at Dreams FC despite traveling with the team due to the setback.

The gaffer will make a decision on the sensational midfield genius ahead of the must-win game against the Royals in the capital on Friday after showing improved fitness at training.

“Rashid had been sick for sometime but now well after training fully with the team. We will make a decision on him before the match,” Coach Boadu told medeamasc.com.

FIT-AGAIN

Defender Ali Ouattara is expected to walk straight back into the team after missing the defeat at Dreams due to a bout of malaria.

The centre-back is expected to partner Daniel Egyin at the heart of defence in their quest to record their first win of the season.

This effectively means Ibrahim Yaro – who had a game to forget in Dawu could revert to the bench after a difficult game at the Theatre of Dreams.

“Its great to see Ali Ouattara back into the team. He is very important for us and we are happy to see him train with the rest of the squad,”

“Hopefully others will also get their chances as the season wears on.”

ABSENTEESĀ

The Mauve and Yellows will be without left-back Bright Enchil. The intelligent defender missed the trip to Dreams FC at the weekend.

There are also no signs of new signing Nana Dadson – who is yet to make his debut for the side.

SUSPENSIONS

There are no suspensions yet after matchday-2 of the Ghana Premier League.
