Match Preview: Medeama set to battle Ebusua Dwarfs

Medeama will seek to consolidate their lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League table when they host Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday.

The Mauve and Yellows assumed top position after a remarkable comeback 2-1 win over Asante  Kotoko in Obuasi at the weekend.

There is a high sense of belief and optimism in Tarkwa that this year could be the deciding moment for the two-time FA Cup holders.

Medeama are still without midfield star Justice Blay – whose season is completely ruined after he fractured his right fibula in their 2-1 win over Legon Cities.

However, they have depth in quality at the heart of the park with Richard Boadu, Eric Kwakwa, Rashid Nortey, Benjamin Arthur and Agyei Boakye all available.

They come up against a resilient Ebusua Dwarfs side who thrashed Great Olympics 4-1 in their last encounter.

The Crabs were ruthless against the Wonder Club, recording a massive win infront of their home fans.

Prior to the win, Abontoa Abontoa boys had not recorded any victory in the premiership since they beat King Faisal Babes 1-0 on 24 February 2021.

Medeama are nine points clear above their opponents – lying at the top with the visitors in 11th place.

The fixture is expected to be fascinating at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa.
